An insufficient fund check that is returned or a debit card purchase attempt that is declined can be embarrassing, frustrating and in the case of checks, can result in fees from the merchant or retailer.
RVA-FPCU understands that many people need an occasional safety net to avoid this type of situation, which is why we offer Courtesy Pay.
Courtesy Pay is a non-contractual overdraft protection service that we offer to our members with eligible share draft (checking) accounts. As long as you maintain your account in good standing, we may cover insufficient fund items up to your approved $400 Courtesy Pay limit. We will charge our $30.00 Courtesy Pay fee and send you a notice each time an overdraft occurs. You are required to bring your account to a positive balance within 30 days.
You can also enroll in Courtesy Pay for your debit card transactions. Visit one of our branches to officially enroll or print, sign and return the form by clicking the link below.
*Courtesy Pay fees are non-refundable. However, members may be granted a refund in the case of 1) documented fraud or 2) a bank error (an error made by a RVA-FPCU staff member or internal system).
